We are seeking to recruit someone with extensive relevant experience to join the management team at Lanarkshire Carers Centre.

Post: Carer Services Manager: CSM 9/19

This is a full-time post 35 hours per week Monday - Friday 9.00 am to 4.30 pm.

Flexibility is required for evening and weekend working.

Based between Hamilton Centre, Airdrie Centre and localities, the post holder will work on an outreach basis in venues across Lanarkshire.

Lanarkshire Carers Centre Salary Points 36 to 39 (starting at £32,010). It is Lanarkshire Carers Centre policy that all applicants will start at the first incremental point of this scale. This is non-negotiable.

We seek to recruit a confident, motivated and professional person with an awareness of the impact of the caring role and the issues faced by unpaid carers. A relevant qualification in Health, Social Care or Community Development or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience within the sector, preferably in a carers centre.

The post holder will be responsible to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and will assist with all aspects of the operational management of the organisation. With lead responsibility for specific service delivery areas, the post holder will also deputise for the CEO as required, and make key contributions to the work of the management team, staff and organisation as a whole.

Working closely with staff, volunteers, carers and partner organisations, the post holder will help to develop, coordinate, facilitate and review integrated information, advice and support services for carers throughout Lanarkshire. The post holder will successfully contribute to the implementation of the organisations’ business plan, strategic and operational development and the implementation of all aspects of our service delivery model.

Other responsibilities of the post include, but are not limited to; funding applications and budget responsibility; preparation of work and project plans, reports and records; line management responsibility for carers support workers and other staff, facilitation of team development days, coordination of groups, carer activities, and events; supporting and raising the profile of Lanarkshire Carers Centre throughout Lanarkshire.

The post holder will ensure compliance and understanding of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 and carers needs throughout the organisation.

Volunteering Opportunities

Lanarkshire Carers Centre are currently recruiting 2 volunteers, (1 Polish speaking) to assist with our Care Talk service. 

This service is run by our volunteers to provide isolated carers with a regular friendly telephone call to keep them updated with services available to them. We are looking for someone who is fluent in Polish & English and who is also able to update & record information on our computer system. PVG disclosure checks will be required, there will be no cost to the individual for this.
